Kings Cross station and St Pancras International
Kings Cross station and St Pancras International are only 2 minutes walk from Ashlee House.
The Kings Cross area is undergoing one of the largest re-development and re-generation programs in Europe. Kings Cross is a hip, up & coming area.
Plenty of restaurants and bars have recently opened and lots of buildings are still being built.
The new Kings Cross St Pancras station is now open and while waiting for your Eurostar train to the continent you can enjoy a drink in one of the many bars or shop in the many trendy boutiques inside the station.
King's Cross station is London's most well-serviced underground station with 6 lines and direct links to all London's major airports. There is also a fleet of buses connecting you to every part of the city-day or night.

Angel Islington
Staying at Ashlee House and feel like going out for dinner or a drink? Angel is the place to go and to be seen in! It's only 10 minutes walk from Ashlee House hostel. Walk up Pentonville Road to find many relaxed and comfortable restaurants and cafes.
The choice of restaurants is endless: whether it is Northern African, European, Asian or just good old British cuisine, for sure you'll find the right place! With hundreds of pubs and bars, the area has everything from traditional British pub to cutting-edge and modern venues. You can opt for the traditional pub experience or hang out in the chicer and more luxurious top-notch wine bars and clubs. No other place in London is as vibrant as Angel!

The Water Rats
Not forgetting some local gems, such as The Water Rats Theatre Bar just across the road from Ashlee House youth hostel. This is where Bob Dylan made his English debut back in 1962 and where Oasis were discovered. The venue still features regular gigs.
Some of the bands even stay with us, in special sound-sealed rooms! Although you might hear them snoring during daylight hours!
The Fabric
Fabric is found at 77a Charterhouse Street only a 10-15 minute walk from Ashlee House. It occupies the renovated space of the Metropolitan Cold Stores. The area's construction took place in Victorian times alongside nearby landmarks Holborn Viaduct and Fleet Valley Bridge

The club has three separate rooms with 5 sound systems, 3 bars over two levels and a total area of 25,000 square feet. Known as a "bodysonic" dancefloor, sections of the floors are attached to 400 bass transducers emitting bass frequencies of the music being played, allowing clubbers to feel the music through bass frequencies transmitted into their skeletons via their feet. It has hosted the best DJ's in the world. Should definitely be on your to do list.

The Brunswick Shopping Centre
A small brand new shopping centre in the heart of Bloomsbury, only 5 minutes walk from the hostel. It has many recognised brands such as Oasis, New Look, Coast, L.K.Bennett and many restaurants and cafe to chill out in. A shopaholic's heaven really!

Upper St in Angel
This long shopping street boasts some big brand names as well as little independent and funky shops. Whatever you like, you will find it in Angel.
There are plenty of places to go out and even a cinema for one of those rainy days! Only 10 minutes walk from Ashlee House youth hostel.
St Pancras International shops
This is the closest to Ashlee House. You can find shops such as Boots, Hamleys, Mark & Spencer, Accessorize, WHS Smith... all brand new! And when you're done with shopping, there are cafes galore for a pit stop.

King's Cross St Pancras train station (Eurostar terminus)
St Pancras, the magnificent terminus of Midlands Railway, first opened in 1876. The arch of the glass-and-iron train shed spans 240 feet and is over 100 feet high at its apex. This superb construction was an outstanding feat of Victorian engineering; when it was completed the roof was the largest in the world. Kings Cross train station has featured in the Harry Potter books as the starting point of the Hogwarts Express. The train uses a secret platform 9 3/4 in the station. Recently, it has undergone a massive refurbishment becoming the terminus for the high-speed Eurostar train to Paris. It has never been so easy to go to Paris and it's only 2 minutes walk from Ashlee House!The British Library
The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom and one of the world's greatest libraries. It's the largest public building constructed in the UK in the 20th Century. The collection includes 150 million items. Treasures include: the Magna Carta, Leonardo da Vinci's Notebook, The Times' first edition from 18 March 1788 and Beatles' manuscripts. British Museum
The British Museum is a museum of human history and culture situated in London. Its collections, which consist of more than 7 million objects, are amongst the largest in the world. Camden Markets
Camden Markets is the fourth most popular visitor attraction in London, attracting 100,00 people each weekend. It's a former craft market but now it's home to bric-a-brac, clothing and fast food stalls. This is the place to go if you wish to come back home with a tattoo or a piercing! Chapel Market is one of London's most traditional and liveliest street markets.At its best at the weekend, Chapel Market specialises in good value fruit and vegetable.
The fish stalls are the finest in the area and there are also stalls offering bargain household goods and cheap clothes. Chapel Market boasts one of London's few remaining pie and mash shop, a traditional Cockney favourite. Located on Chapel Street, Angel. Approx 10 minutes walk from Ashlee House.
