Did you know that if you stay with us you can get free entry or great discounts in many venues all around London? Of course we always make sure to check everything first, so…
Yesterday night we have been trying the Zoo Bar and Club for you, where every Wednesday all our guests enter for £4 only!
The Zoo Bar & Club is a few steps away from Leicester Square, the heart of West End night-life.
Of course everyone was convinced to meet at a different corner of the square, so, after the usual phone conversations (”Where are you?” “I am here, where are you?” “I am here too!” “But here where?”) we managed to get all the pieces together.
We survived the triple slalom between people trying to give us unwanted fliers and Thai restaurant menus, and eventually we found ourselves in front of a stylish, elegant and yet super lively venue.
They define themselves ”the darker side of retro” and we have to admit it… Zoo Bar is quirkily good: it can’t be a coincidence if on Google, when you search ‘zoo’ and ‘London’, they come first, even before the London zoological garden! (My apologies to the gorillas).
On the ground floor there is a bar with loads of screens, featuring all the major sport events.
The club is downstairs, with two bars and a multilevel space. One of the bars, beautifully decorated with a platform of lights, is right on the dance floor.
There are private boots, where to sit and have a chat, and also stalls overlooking the dance floor, where to rest in between the songs without losing eye contact with your catch of the night… : ))
You can also dance your time away on different levels, on the steps or on a small balcony full of mirrors.
There is also a pole, if you feel like being extra sexy! (Luckily none of us was drunk enough for it!)
Important detail: in the cloakroom you can leave your handbag for free, and that’s great, so you can dance without worrying about your home keys!
The club is originally decorated, with hand-shaped stalls and mirrors everywhere. It’s a bit like dancing in an African bazaar, and the ethnic feeling adds a lot to the atmosphere.

The drinks were cheap, around £3 or £4, and the barmen friendly, as also all the security staff. We had a good laugh with one of them: a girl was trying to pick him up, dancing sexily around (and over) him, but he had to remain impassive and professional. Better than the Royal Guards! In the end we found him near the gentlemen toilets, trying desperately to hide from her… : )
The music yesterday night was a mix of R&B, soul, electro-trance and disco, but we have been told that the dj changes every time, always with the best tunes to make you dance all night.
The crowd was young, fun and ready to laugh with us, and we ended up dancing with everyone around us and making loads of new friends!
Open until 3am, Zoo is definitely our choice for a Wednesday night out in London! … Are you coming with us, next week? : )
